I work at MYOB as Program Manager. I’m accountable for MYOBs product development program comprising 33 software engineering teams in Australia, New Zealand and India. I’m using lean principles to help simplify a large and complex portfolio with a goal of maximising flow. I also do the budget stuff as well as team planning and management. I’m all about agile and lean coaching and I’m playing a big role in the company’s ongoing agile transition.
I’m heavily involved in the lean/agile community and I’m a regular contributor and host for agile events around Melbourne, most recently a successful Agile/UX meetup. In 2012, I was part of a plenary panel discussion at Agile Australia 2012 entitled ‘Agile: Looking Back, Looking Forward: Adapt, Innovate, Collaborate & Deliver‘, and I’ve been presenting at national agile and lean conferences since 2009.
Other times I do pro bono web development for StreetSmart Australia and lean/agile coaching, including time at World Vision Australia. I recently featured in some videos (here and here) to help promote volunteering for Seek Volunteer.
I’m husband to Bron and father to Tom and Harry.
I ride my bike a lot and I race (occasionally) for the Italo-Australian Cycling Club.
If I’m not on my pushie, I’ll be out and about on my Vespa PX200e – if you’re in Melbourne, Australia and you see a red one with lots of blue smoke coming out of it, that’s me.
